Pregnancy

Pregnancy can be a miraculous and beautiful time, full of transformation and wonder at the new life developing.  Along with this can come challenges such as nausea and vomiting, fatigue, body pain, and intimidating diagnosis’ such as gestational diabetes and pregnancy induced hypertension. Sage will work with you and your pregnancy plan in order to make you and your child as comfortable as can be while we walk down this path together.

Sage has worked with countless pregnant people from conception through birth and beyond to support a nourished pregnancy and postpartum.  She has advanced training in Chinese herbal medicine for obstetrics, which can be supportive for morning sickness, high blood pressure, initiating labor, and postpartum recovery.  Sage offers moxibustion treatment to address breech presentation and a special series of birth preparation acupuncture treatments starting at week 35.  Sage makes every effort to be available at a moment’s notice for labor induction support and provides prenatal and postpartum home visits.  She performs a special warming treatment after the birth to help the gestational parent recover energy expended during labor.

Some, but not all conditions that are treated by Sage Staggs:

  • Morning sickness and hyperemesis gravidarum

  • Aches and pains

  • Breech presentation

  • Birth preparation

  • Labor induction support

  • Postpartum support

Sage has been such an amazing support throughout my pregnancy. I wanted to find a treatment that would be relaxing and wouldn’t cause any additional soreness or pain. Sage treatments were just that and so much more. Every week I would go back to her with a different kind of pain from sciatica to hemorrhoids, anxiety, rib pain, and a bunch of other pregnancy related symptoms. She is so compassionate, calm and empathetic, and that made me look forward to our sessions each week. I fell asleep several times during the sessions and every time I felt such a relief right after. A lot of those pains would just go away right after our sessions and I would get the best night sleep the same day. It’s such a relief to have found her!

I started working with Sage when I was 37 weeks pregnant with a breech baby in attempts to flip him head down and prepare for my home birth. It was my first time working with acupuncture. Sage was informative and a great listener who helped me work through the fear and anxiety as a first time mama. Not only did my babe end up turning head down after consistently seeing Sage (I was also going to chiropractor appointments regularly) but she also helped me induce labor at 41 weeks + 4 days. At my last appointment with her I left her office and contractions started! She’s great and I highly recommend working with her. Thank you, Sage!
